About The Wine
Koen gets the fruit for his Zinfandel from Clare Valley, specifically Watervale. Clare may be known for its Riesling but increasingly its home to some great alternate varieties.
Here we see ripe notes of dried fruit and spices mingling with fresh raspberries and blackberries. The tannins are velvety soft and the finish juicy and bright.
It has real drinking appeal and will suit lovers of rich reds on the hunt for something new.
About Bink
Koen Janssens is one half of the crazy duo that creates the flamboyant Yetti and the Kokonut wines (he’s Kokonut).
With Yetti, Koen experiments with white and orange winemaking, with his own label Bink, he takes a broader approach.
Starting his journey in wine as a sommelier, it was a stint at Quay in Sydney that made him realise his calling was making, not selling wine.
Moving to SA, Koen learned from some great people including James Erskine, Anton Von Klopper, and Pete Schell, before setting forth on his own path with YatK, and then Bink.
