Antonio Madeira, a Portuguese native raised in France with an engineering background, felt the call to return to his ancestral home in the Dão region, nestled at the base of the Serra Estrela. He made it his mission to uncover the hidden gems among the vineyards, those forgotten patches of land that could be likened to the Grand Crus of Dão.
With patience and dedication, Antonio cultivated a network of over 15 small vineyards and more than 30 individual plots, which form the heart and soul of his winemaking endeavor. Embracing a philosophy of minimal intervention, he tends to the vines without the use of chemicals, embracing biodynamic principles to nurture the unique terroir of his homeland. His winemaking approach is hands-off, allowing the essence of the granitic soil to shine through, with only a touch of sulfur added at bottling.
Antonio's signature creation, the Antonio Madeira Ainda Palhete, is a testament to his ethos. Crafted from a blend of red and white grapes sourced from ancient vines, some over a century old and cultivated biodynamically, this wine undergoes a natural fermentation process before aging for 18 months in stainless steel vats. It's a wine of purity and elegance, reflecting the essence of Dão's rich winemaking tradition.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
