If the Yarra Valley wines capture the full voice of the region in full chorus, the Villages wines would be a group of tenors or sopranos, with the Single Vineyard wines playing the soloists.
This sample pack gives you a look at the three fine, elegant Chardonnays from the 2022 vintage. Only a limited amount of packs available.

2022 Mac Forbes Woori Yallock Village Chardonnay
For both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the wines from Woori Yallock almost always top our Mac Forbes tastings. This outstanding Chardonnay release is both tense and plush, with intense citrus and spice flavours, a deep fruit core, and a fine minerality that guides a long, powerful finish.
Classy concentrated Chardonnay does not have to be big and buttery, and this is proof positive..Loved it.
De-stemmed and crushed before pressing, nine months maturation in old oak.

Opens with aromas of red apples, white nectarines, lemon-scented verbena and an attractive vanillin spice character. Seamless on the palate but still compact and tightly wound. 2022 Mac Forbes Yarra Junction Villages Chardonnay
This is in the flinty, crunchy, Chablis aisle of the Mac Forbes Chardonnay supermarket.
A real minerally feel here, with citrus and grapefruit being the dominant fruit characters. It's a pithy, dramatic wine that will reward some cellaring.
De-stemmed and crushed before pressing, matured for nine months in old oak.

It's a coin toss between this and the Woori Yallock as my pick of the Village series wines in 2022. Complex with aromas of tangerines, just-ripened orchard fruits, pink grapefruit and a little oyster shell. Tightly wound with great acidity. Balanced and mouthcoating, finishing pithy and long. 2022 Mac Forbes Gladysdale Villages Chardonnay
Gladysdale sits at the southern end of the valley, heading in the direction of Gippsland. This warmer pocket of the region produces a Chardonnay with a little more flesh up front and a more generous fruit weight in the context of the Mac Forbes range.
Compared to others in the region, this still sits in the finer end of the Chardonnay spectrum but for a Mac Forbes wine, it's golden, ripe and and flush with delicious primary fruit.

"A blend of fruit from Willowlake and Little Yarra. A few hours skin contact before fermentation and maturation in mainly seasoned barriques. Quite deep but bright gold with green tinges. The most fruit-forward of this year's three Village chardonnays, you'll find white peach, a little gun flint reduction and a gentle and fragrant nuttiness present in all of the 2022 Mac Forbes Chardonnays tasted for this year's guide. We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.

We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
