I can’t believe what I’m tasting.
About The Wine
This beautiful example of McLaren Vale Grenache comes from a rugged old bush vines planted in Blewitt Springs almost 50 years ago.
A delicate handling in the winery by winemaker Michael Corbett has perfectly preserved the ethereal quality that these old vines produce. The epic aromatics, the glorious texture, the vivaciousness of this wine is something to behold.
This is the quintessential modern McLaren Vale Grenache. Gary Walsh of The Wine Front writes, "This is a superb wine... It’s bloody McLaren Vale G. Mascarello." in his mammoth 97 point review.
It's a stunning thing to drink and set to be one of the most sought-after Grenache releases in Australia this year.
Vanguardist is an up and coming producer from McLaren Vale started by three friends after many long nights in Hawkes Bay talking about their shared love of wine.
Their mission is to bring premium, authentic, small-batch wines to a market they see as crowded by "overly commercialised wines produced by corporates who take up all the elbow room."
They source very high-quality fruit from great vineyards across South Australia, looking to build wines with texture and vibrancy.
With experienced winemaker Michael Corbett at the helm, the future looks bright for this plucky challenger brand.
