Very serious rose here, but fresh.

About The Wine
Crawford River has always marched to the beat of its own drum.
While Riesling is what the Thomsons are best known for, this unique rosé has a cult following of its own. Unlike the growing trend to make rosé from Mediterranean varieties like Grenache, Sangiovese and Tempranillo, this is made predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
There aren't many Cabernet-based Rosés around these days, but this just works. The Thomsons explain that this is "made from the ground up" to be a serious, dry, textural rosé.
Sounds obvious, but the fact still remains that so many Aussie rosés are made as an afterthought from left-over, declassified fruit. Crawford River's is a lovely Rosé - very unique in style - and a no-brainer for the warmer months.
About The Producer
Crawford River is very much a family operation. The talented Thomson clan have been producing wine from their beautiful home vineyard since 1985.
The Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc thrive on the estate, but it's Riesling that they are most famous for.
They produce a range of styles of varying ages that are outstanding. Many consider them as one of the country's premier producers of the noble variety.
These are wines of purity and elegance. Small-batch, family-owned, traditional winemaking and good, honest farming is at the core of everything Crawford River does.
