If asked, I would name [this domaine] as the the number one producer in Rully...Superb wines in both colours made by a most unassuming yet brilliantly articulate vigneron…

About The Wine
Vincent Dureuil-Janthial travels outside his home in Rully to the Côte d’Or for his Bourgogne Rouge. The fruit comes primarily from Premeaux in the North and Puligny in the South. Together the parcels combine to produce a serious wine that both is seductive with deep pillowy red and blue fruit and seriously structured with fine gravelly tannin and a savoury mineral finish.
A wine that over-delivers in spades and can be enjoyed now or cellared.
About Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial
Van-son Doo-rey Jon-tea-ahl. Yes, it's a mouthful but this is a name you should get to know. Dureuil-Janthial are widely recognised as the finest estate in Rully and, whilst relatively unknown here, they have a long and loyal following of Burgundian growers who turn to their wines at every opportunity. >
Rully is just 15 minutes south of Cote de Beaune, Dureuil-Janthial have small, but outstanding, holdings, spread across the village. The viticulture is organic and guided by biodynamics and in the winery a kid glove and attention to detail is paramount. Practises common in the greatest appellations of Burgundy are standard here and that sets these wines apart from Rully at large.
Our advice? don't worry about the long name or the vineyards you've not heard of. Don't even worry which cuvee you go for, take a leaf out of Coche's book, and drink these wines as often as you can. It won't be very often given the volumes, but you'll be glad when you do.
