About the Wine
You'll hear Alsatian people say that they are not from France, or from Germany, but from Alsace. This is because the region, which borders these two countries, has changed nationalities a few times throughout history. This makes it something of a cultural melting pot which harnesses the best elements of both French and German winemaking.
This wine comes from a selection of older vineyards and represents a refined and aromatic style of Riesling. Orange blossoms and apricots come through on the nose and the palate is soft, unctuous and delicate, with ripe citrus, stone fruits and white pepper. It finishes clean and long. Try not to share it around too liberally.
About Albert Mann
The birth of Domaine Albert Mann dates back to the 17th century and is the ongoing story of two big winemaker families, Mann and Barthelmé. The Mann's have been winegrowers since the beginning of the 17th century and Barthelmé's since 1654.
Brothers Maurice and Jacky Barthelmé continue this tradition, working entirely organically and biodynamically throughout the estate, located just outside the achingly picturesque town of Colmar.
