About The Wine
There are two Shiraz in the Sons of Eden ‘Mystical Series’ of wines; Remus and Romulus. These ‘twin’ wines are named after the two brothers who are said to have built Rome. As legend has it, Romulus, the brawnier and stronger of the two (the Barossa Shiraz in this case) killed his more refined, and elegant brother Remus (the Eden Valley equivalent), in a war over the naming of the city.
The best of their Eden Valley wines, Remus, is sourced from two separate 50+ year old vineyards. With a rigorous fruit selection policy and a healthy whack of new French oak, this wine is recognised as one of the highest quality examples of premium Shiraz from the region.
Powerful, complex and built to last, this is a Ferrari of an Eden Valley Shiraz.
About Sons of Eden
Sons of Eden is a partnership between experienced winemaker (Corey Ryan) and viticulturist (Simon Cowham) who both “learnt and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley”. The boys have successfully grown their brand with a suite of full-flavoured but well-proportioned Barossa and Eden Valley wines - predominantly reds - that have gained impressive critical acclaim.
The wines are built on classic Barossan varieties and blends, but with a modern elegance that makes the wines simultaneously approachable and cellar-worthy. With Cowham's vineyard resources and Ryan's winemaking prowess, Sons of Eden has become one of the best value producers in Australia.
