About This Wine
Small-batch winemaking at its best, this project from Clos Ibai is never looking to make wine for the masses, rather their focus is on crafting unique tiny expressions.
This delectable white wine comes from vines planted in 2014 and managed organically since the 2016 vintage. It's a smooth-textured, mouth-coating white imbued with crystal-clear minerality and a long finish with mouth-watering acidity. Viura dominant, with a little bit of Grenache Blanc, and Malvasia, this is as textural as they come.
A superb Blanca and fascinating drinking for the dollars.
About Clos Ibai
Clos Ibai is a project dedicated to rescuing the precious ancient vines of Rioja that are falling into disrepair.
These rare old plots around Baños de Ebro are some of Spain's most unique viticultural resources, however as the owners are ageing, the vineyards are failing.
That's where Daniel Frias & Xabier Kamio step in. They are saving these old vines as well as planting their own vineyards in an effort to secure the legacy of this great wine producing region.
Farming organically, they craft wines that are true reflections of their origins.
