2024 Mount Mary Reflexion Chardonnay

Mount Mary Chardonnay is one of the most hunted wines in the country, usually requiring a spot on a long-standing mailing list and a serious investment to secure. The Réflexion Chardonnay is made from the estate's younger vines, which don't quite have the horsepower for the flagship label yet, but they are still grown on the same hallowed ground and handled by Sam Middleton with the exact same level of care.

Sam treats this fruit just like the iconic estate Chardonnay: full barrel fermentation and a healthy dose of solids to build in weight and a bit of "chew." Because the vines are younger and the 2024 season was on the cooler side, the result is a fresher, more nimble style. It trades the massive, long-term cellar potential of its big brother for immediate, high-energy drinking.

You get citrus blossom, white stone fruit, and a clean, zesty line of acidity, all rounded out by a subtle creaminess from the oak. It’s not the world-beating flagship, but it gives you a clear look at what Sam can do with this grape at about a third of the price. If you want the Mount Mary pedigree without the triple-digit price tag, this is absolutely worth a look.

2024 Mount Mary Marli Russell RP1

The Marli Russell label of Yarra Valley pioneers Mount Mary is named in honour of co-founder Marli Middleton, and her adventurous enthusiasm for the winery to explore new ideas.

In line with this Mount Mary planted 7 Rhone varieties 16 years ago, ideally suited to the Valley's warming climate, including the three in this white blend - Marsanne, Roussanne and Clairette.

With its honeyed pears and ripe green melon, it’s got both presence and gorgeous texture. Tight, smokey lemongrass and herbal edges keep things straight and the scales balanced.

In true Mount Mary style they’re well on their way to building another classic!

2024 Mount Mary Reflexion Pinot Noir

The Mount Mary Pinot Noir is one of the most coveted wines from this great estate.

The Réflexion series offers an accessible look into the Mount Mary style. Sourced entirely from the property's younger vines, these wines are bottled only when winemaker Sam Middleton identifies a parcel that is stylistically distinct from the flagship estate blend. While the primary Mount Mary Pinot Noir is built for decades in the cellar, Réflexion is crafted to be approachable and expressive in its youth.

The 2024 release is a bright, high-energy Pinot that leans into a "crunchier" framework. It leads with an inviting bouquet of wild strawberry, ripe cranberry, and quince paste, with just a hint of oak spice in the background. Despite its lighter colour, the wine carries impressive concentration and intensity.

It is a Pinot of considerable charm and persistence that gives you a glimpse of the Mount Mary pedigree at a fraction of the usual price. Only a small amount of the Reflexion wines are bottled and they are never available for long. With Mount Mary and Pinot Noir on the label, this will fly quickly.

2024 Mount Mary Marli Russell RP2

Old guard icons are not always known for tinkering with a winning formula. But the considered experimentation in the Marli Russell reds brings these Rhone-inspired beauties well beyond mere project wines.

Named after Sam Middleton’s grandmother, this range is the result of a long-term experiment with Rhône varieties on the estate. The RP2 is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Shiraz that trades heavy-handed ripeness for the finesse that Mount Mary is known for.

The 2024 season was a game of two halves; a cooler start provided a taut, mineral edge, while a dry February ripened the Grenache and Shiraz beautifully. It’s light-to-medium bodied and very refreshing. You get bright pomegranate and wild strawberry notes that transition into a more brooding mid-palate, all held together by seamless, silky tannins.

It’s a sophisticated, Southern Rhône-inspired blend from one of the Yarra's most famous addresses.

2023 Mount Mary Reflexion Cabernets

Réflexion Cabernets offers a more immediate, generous take on the BDX blend from the iconic Mount Mary in the Yarra Valley.

Sourced from younger estate vines and selected parcels that didn’t fit stylistically with their legendary Quintet, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and a dash of Petit Verdot is all about approachability and drinkability now.

It’s absolutely delicious, showing dark berries, graphite, bay leaf and gentle cedar from a measured touch of oak. The palate is medium-bodied and neatly shaped, with fine tannins and a clean, persistent finish.

This is a great choice if you love the classic Mount Mary feel but want something that’s drinking well now - or something to see you through while the Quintet slumbers in the cellar.

"Magnificent perfume... plum compote, dried fig and juicy black cherry. Lusty flavour with a coolness underlying."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

Mount Mary

One of the great Australian domains is in the form of its life with young Sam Middleton as head winemaker.

The list of accolades for the great Mount Mary is long and rich. They are one of the country's most celebrated and collectable family-owned estates. From the impossible balance of the iconic Quintet and Triolet blends to the scintillating Chardonnays and the rare and almost mythical Pinot Noir, there is not a hair out of place in the Mount Mary lineup.

With Sam Middleton in charge of the winemaking process, Mount Mary is entering its second golden age as one of the jewels of the Yarra Valley.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
