Gerard Boulay
Gérard Boulay is one of the towering figures of Sancerre.
His family has grown grapes and made wine in the tiny village of Chavignol since the 1300s. His wines are among the most respected in the region, showcasing the great terroir of Chavignol in its most pure form.
As is the case with all great vignerons, his focus is put squarely on the vineyard, he hand-harvests, farms without herbicides or pesticides, and works his plots with horse over machine.
These are classic wines at the very pinnacle of the regional style.
