2018 Renzaglia Stone Wall Riesling Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

"One of the best value for money/cellar worthy/complex-serious wines for the bucks I’ve seen this year."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

The Renzaglia story began with US ex-pat Mark Renzaglia and his wife Sandy moving to O'Connell in 1995 with a view to planting their own vineyard.

Mark consulted around the traps and made wine for a few other companies while their vineyard was established. Now Renzaglia wines is his full-time gig, with so Sam coming through to take over the family business.

These are great value wines from an unsung NSW wine region.

This white is blistering. It's Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc with a splash of Semillon. Flinty, crunchy and dry as a bone, this is the perfect seafood wine for any day of the week.

2020 Adelina Polish Hill River Riesling

Adelina is on a serious roll - another ripper wine here.

Their home is in the Clare Valley and though their range is beginning to roam a little further afield, the choice of a Riesling site was a no-brainer. This vineyard in the famous Polish Hill River sub-region of the Clare was planted in 2000, with perfect soils for producing first class Riesling.

There are many reasons that PHR is the most famous region in the country for producing Riesling; the consistency and the purity of the fruit not the least of them.

This Riesling sings of its home. It's beautiful drinking, and unbeatable value.

2019 Unico Zelo Jade & Jasper Fiano

The Unico Zelo owner/winemaking dynamic duo of Brendan and Laura Carter are hugely passionate about Fiano, and they wholeheartedly believe in this variety's suitability to Australia's climate and culture.

So do we, it's a winner.

This comes from the ancient sandy limestone soils on the iconic Ricca Terra Farms vineyard in the Riverland region of South Australia. Like in previous years it's a wonderfully textural wine, but I reckon this release seems a little more balanced and even clean-cut than the 2018 release.

It looks the goods. All up it's delicious to drink, perfectly built for enjoying with food and great value for money.

2019 Arfion Pinot Grigio

Dave Mackintosh's Arfion label has a good track record with this popular grape, and his style really captures the freshness of 'Grigio' with the texture of 'Gris'.

Unlike the vast majority of Pinot Grigio on the market, his is very much hand-made from start to finish. It comes from the Coombe vineyard in the warmer Lower Yarra Valley area - a site with a great track record for Pinot Gris.

The fruit was hand-picked in the cool early morning to retain freshness and concentration, with whole bunches, older oak and some lees stirring adding nice texture and interest.

It's zippy and refreshing on the one hand, chewy and thought-provoking on the other. A quality Pinot Grigio from Dave and super value.

2018 Murdoch Hill Chardonnay

This is Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 101.

Murdoch Hill is a producer that should be on your radar, with young winemaker Michael Downer one of the real up-and-coming talents in the country. This Chardonnay might not have the pizzaz and funk of his 'Artisan' releases, but boy oh boy is it a good drink.

It comes from two different vineyards in the Adelaide Hills sub-regions of Lobethal and Piccadilly Valley, providing complexity, balance and depth to the final product. Light and fresh on the one hand, creamy and mouth filling on the other. It's not super complex or thought-provoking but it's a mighty fine drink and nifty value.

2019 Ricca Terra Vintners Bronco Buster White Blend

After supplying grapes to some of the country's most exciting new wave winemakers, Ash Ratcliff has now released his own label from his eclectic Ricca Terra Farms. This is a blend of some of Ash's favourite white Mediterranean varieties: Vermentino, Fiano, Greco di Tuffo - and the new comer to his band of brave new varieties - Arinto.

The vines were pruned by hand, picked by hand, co-fermented except for the Arinto portion and brought to bottle with no acid adjustments, something that few wines from the Riverlands could claim. The Bronco Buster is made as a light, smashable wine with enough savoury elements to make it marry perfectly with a wide array of cuisine.

The blend may look to be a little 'out there' but the wine itself is oddly familiar. A great start from Ash and his team and a sign of more great things to come.

No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!

Are there volume discounts?

No our pricing is aiming to the best in the market already. For very large orders (weddings etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call. How does the price match work?

Everyday Low & Consistent Pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll match it. We'll even retrospectively refund you if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.

I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me?

This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 1300 668 385 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.

Does Different Drop have a physical store?

No, not really. More of a warehouse/office. We do however offer a Click & Collect option from our warehouse in Ultimo, Sydney. Our warehouse address for Click & Collect is: F5A, 42 Wattle St, Ultimo, 2007

Can I special order a wine you do not sell?

If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
