Different Drop is extremely excited to announce our first tasting event for 2018!
We are partnering up with one of our favourite Western Australian producers, Blue Poles of Margaret River, to release the new vintage of their most popular wine, the 2015 Allouran Merlot Cabernet Franc.
Blue Poles have garnered an enviable reputation over the last decade for producing some of Margaret River's best value wines. Arguably, the star of the Blue Poles show is the Allouran, a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from their esteemed bucolic vineyard in the Wallcliffe sub-region.
The Allouran offers supreme value for money and has done much to reframe the public perception of Merlot and Merlot based blends with a string of excellent releases over its history.
There are few producers in the country with such a deft touch with the Merlot grape. In a region where Cabernet is King, Blue Poles stands out as a true champion of the variety.
If you love the feeling of a good, honest Claret in your glass, Blue Poles is a name you need to be familiar with.
The Allouran should have a home amongst the collection of any savvy buyer of Australian red wine.

The night will be a casual and intimate stand-up tasting of the 2015 Allouran along with rare museum releases back to 2005, as well as a peek at their flagship 2015 Reserve Merlot.
Blue Poles co-owner, Mark Gifford, will be on hand to offer his insights into the wines and chat to all who attend the event.
When & Where...
The event will be held in The Chapel at 100 George st, The Rocks.
The tasting will commence at 6:30pm on Monday 9th April and conclude by 8:30pm.
NB: A selection of cheese and light snacks will be on offer, though no dinner will be provided for the event.

Tickets are extremely limited to this event. Given the increasing buzz generated by this wine release after release, this may be your only chance to secure an allocation of the 2015 Allouran.
