Syrahmi owner/winemaker Adam Foster clearly states the intentions for his Demi Shiraz: "over delivering is the name of the game!"
Demi is a mid-weight Shiraz with loads of character from three well-known vineyards in Heathcote.
There's a fair amount of whole bunches used (60% this year), giving lifted aromatics and spice. A lot of thought and detailed winemaking for this price!
A terrific introduction to a hugely exciting Victorian winemaker, and as far as Heathcote Shiraz goes this as good value as any.

"Demi is all about drinkability on the one hand, but nuance, depth, and grace on the other. Engages immediately with blackcurrant, loganberry, black cherry, earthy spices, acacia, briar, and a touch of aromatic florals and Aussie bush. Offers a medium-bodied look at Heathcote Shiraz from a mild year, laced in lovely spices, flowing in ripe fruit, fine-edged in tannin, and thoughtful by design. Offers a subtle framework with enduring flavour."

This is 100% Nebbiolo from the Humis vineyard in Colbinabbin, grown on red Cambrian soils and handled with a light, steady touch. The fruit was destemmed, wild fermented, left on skins for 30 days, and matured in seasoned oak. It’s bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no additions at any stage.
It smells exactly like it should — sour cherry, orange peel, dried rose, and a bit of crushed herb and dusty spice. The palate’s firm and linear, with fine-grained tannin running the length. There’s plenty of grip, but it’s well managed, and the acidity keeps the whole thing lifted and fresh.
This is not a soft or friendly Nebbiolo. It’s lean, structured and built in a classic mould, made to reflect site and variety first. You’ll want food, air and patience — but if you like your Nebbiolo clean, dry and uncompromising, this is right in the pocket.

"First, a decant. Second, a big glass. Third, pour and swish and enjoy the dark rose aromatics, the orange peel, white pepper, rosehip, black cherry, marzipan and amaro bitters. An ode to the savoury side of nebbiolo, the bitey amaro side is delivered in pronounced tannins and bright acidity... It's got time up its sleeve."

This is Syrahmi’s Sangiovese from the Kennedy vineyard in Colbinabbin, grown on classic red Cambrian dirt. It’s made without additions, wild fermented after full destemming, and kept on skins for 22 days before being matured in large French foudre and seasoned Austrian oak. No tricks, just proper handling to show off the fruit and soil.
Stylistically, it leans savoury and structured — a far cry from the soft, easygoing Sangiovese you sometimes see locally. Black cherry and dark plum set the tone, with balsamic, bitter chocolate, thyme and undergrowth rounding it out. There’s real depth to the palate, but it stays firm and taut thanks to the fine tannin and bright line of acidity.
This isn’t a crowd-pleaser, and it’s not trying to be. It’s a serious, soil-driven Sangiovese built with patience and purpose, made for drinkers who appreciate clarity, restraint, and old-world sensibility done well on Australian ground.

"This is a cracking sangiovese with ample body and the structure to match. One sip and you find yourself exclaiming, 'Go, you good thing.' Red cherries, currants, leather and chocolate come lifted with mint and sweet spice. It all works beautifully."

Adam Foster believes ion Heathcote Grenache, and with this lovely wine you can certainly see why.
The fruit for this comes off the Humis vineyard in Colbinabbin, grown on classic red Cambrian soils. It’s 60% whole bunch, wild fermented, raised in old oak and bottled without fining or filtration — no additions, no new wood, just pure vineyard expression.
The nose is red fruited and savoury — think raspberry, plum skin, dried herbs and a touch of crushed flowers. It’s mid-weight and fresh, with light tannin and bright acid keeping things taut. There’s a bit of stem in the mix, giving it shape and a light spice without taking over.
It’s not trying to be polished or pushed — just a straight-up, thoughtfully made Grenache that reflects where it’s from and how it was handled. You can drink it now, slightly chilled if you like, or let it stretch out over a long afternoon with food.

"Full bodied and concentrated flavour, very intense and driving long, the tannins fine and persuasive and well harmonised with the entirety of the wine. Long, long carry. A very smart grenache indeed."

"This is a serious Grenache and yet it’s joyous and approachable... It will cellar. But it is indeed delicious right now too."
