2025 Mercer Barbera
There’s plenty of juicy fruit in the 2025 Mercer Barbera, but the freshness keeps you coming back. Hunter Valley local Aaron Mercer makes wines from sustainably farmed vineyards across NSW, with this Barbera sourced from Angullong in Orange.
Orange’s high altitude helps the grapes retain their natural acidity, giving the ripe fruit a lively edge. Gentle hand plunging and a brief spell in oak keep the winemaking simple and the fruit at the centre of things.
Blackberry, cherry and plum lead the way, with a little spice and a soft, rounded feel through the palate. It’s medium-bodied and ready to drink, with enough acidity to work well at the dinner table.

"Plush and velvety as Barbera can be, it's a wine that cuddles into the mid-palate, but the assertive acidity makes it a moreish drink. Barbera is for everyone – moderate in body, food-friendly, and a wine that is perfectly sippable on its own."

2025 Mercer Tempranillo
Aaron Mercer is a massive fan of Tempranillo’s potential in Australia, especially in a high-altitude spot like Orange. He’s built this 2025 release in a deliberate Joven style, which is just a fancy way of saying it’s made for freshness and immediate drinking rather than being tucked away in a cellar.
When we tried this Temp the word "gluggable" kept coming up. It’s a mid-weight red that really celebrates the bright, crunchy fruit you get from those cooler slopes. Aaron avoids heavy oak here to let the fruit do the talking, so you get heaps of plush cherries and raspberries with a nice little savoury hit of dried herbs on the finish.
It’s an unpretentious, easy-going red that’s perfect for a mid-week pasta or a casual BBQ. If you’re after something vibrant and smashable that doesn't overcomplicate things, this hits the spot perfectly.

2025 Mercer Montepulciano
The Mercer Montepulciano Rosso brings a little bit of the Italian countryside to Australia, delivering an attractive, energetic wine.
Montepulciano is an Italian grape that is slowly and thankfully growing in popularity in Australia. Mercer's iteration of it is a nod to its European forebears with its lovely dark fruits and chocolate tones, with some savoury herbs adding some complexity.
On the palate, it's all about energy and flavour, with the fruitiness singing alongside the acidity, while the tannins are not overpowering but finely integrated.
If you can't get your hands on an Italian Montepulciano, grab the Mercer instead. You'll thank us later.
2025 Mercer Malbec
The Mercer Malbec is the perfect option for a warm-hearted, well-priced red that isn't Shiraz!
Aaron Mercer is a force to be reckoned with. Based in the Hunter Valley but sourcing fruit from all over NSW, Mercer has a unique talent with 'alternative' grape varieties, with his thumbprint of deliciously plush fruit and seamless balance all over this wine.
It's a dark and brooding red but not over-the-top, with plum and blackcurrant alongside some liquorice spiciness and floral notes. The palate is silky smooth with tannins and acidity keeping each other in check, providing balance and energy.
A great wine for steak nights or when you're after something a little different. Superb value!
2024 Mercer Sagrantino
Sagrantino? From Orange? Yep, somehow it works!
Aaron Mercer sources this Sagrantino (a bold, notoriously tannic and rugged Italian grape) from Orange, continuing his interest in finding a home for less familiar varieties across NSW. This is not a typical take on the variety, it's a lot more svelte and slippery than the Italian versions you may have tried.
Black cherry and blackcurrant lead, with a little floral lift and peppery spice. It’s medium-bodied, with a generous spread of tannin that gives it structure without making it feel heavy.
Rated 95 points by Halliday Wine Companion, this is something a little bit different but has Aaron's signature drinkability written all over it.

"Sagrantino from Orange – get around it, because this is sagrantino with a whole new groove. Lavender lift with steeped black cherries, pepperberries and cassis. Black tea tannins spread like a gauze across the palate. This is inky but with so much lift of acidity and medium-body purpose. Keep this on your radar for those flank steaks, because those deliberate tannins will do a world of good for flavourful chews of red meat. A very cool wine."

2025 Mercer Wines Shiraz Nouveau
If you're looking for a modern, vibrant Shiraz, here's your number.
Aaron Mercer sources fruit from the Hunter Valley for this one, and with minimal tinkering and no preservatives, he transforms it into a spicy, earthy, floral delight perfect to rip into right now. He keeps the focus on fruit purity, with red and purple fruits to the front and oak influence minimal.
The perfect red for any day or night of the week.

"A smattering of Hunter earthiness in the mix, which adds a little extra to the wine. There’s a bit of bounce and joy to this wine, and it achieves what it sets out to do admirably."

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
