Description

Duncan and Peter Lloyd of Coriole fame are making waves in McLaren Vale with their side project Dune.

Centred on a beautiful, organically farmed Blewitt Springs vineyard, they craft an eclectic array of wines in both classic McLaren Vale styles, as well as from emerging varieties finding a new home in the region.

Their wines are deliciously pure, thought-provoking, and represent truly unbeatable value for money.

  • 2022 Dune Ain Salah Cinsault
  • 2022 Dune Tirari
  • 2022 Dune Cactus Canyon Grenache
  • 2022 Dune Pyla
  • 2022 Dune The Empty Quarter GSM
  • 2022 Dune Blewitt Springs Shiraz

2022 Dune Ain Salah Cinsault

Made in only minuscule quantities, this single-varietal Cinsault from Dune is a wine to jump on quickly before it’s all gone.

Cinsault is a fascinating variety and one proving to be well-suited to the sunshine of the Vale. Easy to grow, light-bodied and full of bright red fruits - it's a name we're bound to see a lot more of.

This is a jubey, spicy, herbal, wildly delicious little red. Low alcohol and low tannin make it the perfect lunchtime option too, and it loves 20 minutes in the fridge!

2022 Dune Tirari

Dune is one of the most interesting and exciting arrivals on the McLaren Vale scene, and this is another smash hit from the Lloyd brothers.

It's a unique blend of Negroamaro, Touriga and Mataro/Mourvedre working together to show off the rich and rustic McLaren Vale character.

This is Medium bodied, juicy and savoury - the perfect pizza red!

The synergy of these varieties is a real surprise packet. Read more

2022 Dune Cactus Canyon Grenache

The latest single-varietal wine from this energetic and evolving project that in a short period of time has helped the Lloyd brothers burst out of the shadow of their family estate Coriole.

2021 was the first time they released the Cactus Canyon Grenache, and this 2022 is a brilliant follow-up. It's a deliberately lighter style, picked early and with minimal oak influence.

It's a spicy, floral little number that really bursts out of the glass with gorgeously exotic Grenache aromas and a fresh and lively palate. Give it a light chill when the sun's out and you're in for a treat! Read more

2022 Dune Pyla

A new age McLaren Vale red wine here from the notable Lloyd family of Coriole fame. The brothers Duncan and Peter have forged a new project from their Blewitt Springs vineyard, and their whole range proves to be all killer no filler.

Italian varieties have become one of the great stories of McLaren Vale, with Coriole doing plenty to champion these sun-loving grapes. Here, Nero d'Avola takes centre stage, surrounded by Negroamaro & Montepulciano as well as Rhone classics Carignan and Mourvedre.

It's savoury, spicy and full of lush McLaren Vale dark fruit. Not a foot wrong so far from this exciting rising McLaren Vale project. Read more

"Varieties here include nero, carignan, negroamaro, montepulciano, grenache and mourvedre. A righteous blend, reflective of the sort of wine much of Australia should be making. McLaren Vale does a good job, and this producer is an exemplar. Lilacs, pithy red cherries, dried thyme, cloves and lavender. The tannins are Mediterranean-gritty and beautifully detailed. This is a wonderful wine to drink with gusto on a daily basis."
- Ned Goodwin MW (James Suckling)

2022 Dune The Empty Quarter GSM

The Arthur Kelman Perpetual Trophy for Best Shiraz Dominant Blend
- 2023 Royal Sydney Wine Show

The Lloyd brothers have burst out of the gates with a suite of interesting and delicious examples of McLaren Vale wines.

With firm roots in the region, hailing from the great Lloyd dynasty at Coriole, this is the boys chance to spread their wings and do things their own way.

This is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre, and a dash of Touriga. Medium bodied, svelte and spicy with delicious ripe fruit flavours, they've nailed this wine from first swing of the hammer.

2022 Dune Blewitt Springs Shiraz

The Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale typically produces a softer, more approachable style of Shiraz.

Brothers Duncan and Peter Lloyd are making the most of the regional characteristics here to deliver a McLaren Vale Shiraz that can be enjoyed immediately, as opposed to the more hulking full-bodied styles that look best with a few years under their belt.

This is made with very little interference from the boys - the fruit quality doing all the work to create a ripe yet easy-drinking Shiraz which is very difficult to put down.

McLaren Vale Shiraz 101 and just unbeatable value! Read more

    Dune Experience Like No Other

I first discovered Dune via their GSM iteration (The Empty Quarter) hence why I gave their experience pack a try. I love their philosophy to wine making and this offering here is not only a great introduction, but great value for money.

Ordering

We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
  • The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
  • We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
  • We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
  • It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
  • It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.

We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.

At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
