Description

J&S Fielke is a small, relatively new Adelaide Hills label making some serious waves in its short career. Here's another new exciting new wine from Jemma and Steve - their first Fiano.

The fruit here is sourced from the Deanery Vineyard in Balhannah, a well-regarded site in the Onkaparinga Valley. The 2026 vintage was extremely late and cool, which worked in their favour - high natural acidity and lovely aromatics work well for a variety like Fiano that can easily become quite broad and waxy.

In the cellar, the fruit saw partial skin contact, wild ferment in stainless steel, followed by full malolactic fermentation for texture. It's a considered, layered approach to Fiano that adds complexity without losing freshness.

It's a great entry point to Aussie Fiano and nails the style that we reckon has a huge future here - texture, freshness and sheer drinkability!

94 points
"Very expressive wine; it’s a 4F: flavourful, fleshy and flashy Fiano with no shortage of layers and texture."
- Kasia Sobiesiak (The Wine Front)

93 points
"It's a very pleasing and distinctly varietal drink... Worthy at the pricepoint, with clever winemaking on hand."
- Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

94 points - "Very expressive wine; it’s a 4F: flavourful, fleshy and flashy Fiano with no shortage of layers and texture. Laced with flint and citrus oils that burst first, tarragon, sweet mint leaf and a crunchy, zingy greengage plum as a base. There are yellow apples, peach and pomelo in the mix here, too, really tickling the senses. This wine has great mid-palate weight, as it starts fruity-juicy and finishes on a tonic water and bitter lime sensation. Very seductive and moreish!" - Kasia Sobiesiak (The Wine Front)

93 points - "The fruit is picked from the Deanery vineyard in the Onkaparinga Valley parish of the Adelaide Hills. A wild ferment kicks things off; the wine is matured in older oak. Three parcels see no skin contact, three hours and six hours, respectively. It's a very pleasing and distinctly varietal drink. Nashi pear meets green almond, a touch of honeydew melon, some Japanese pickled ginger notes in both the perfume and palate. A bit of pleasing grip in the slick of the texture, more or less medium weight, but feels fresher and perkier than that. Worthy at the pricepoint, with clever winemaking on hand." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

Fiano from The Deanery Vineyard (Balhannah) in the Onkaparinga Valley. The 2026 vintage was extremely late and cool, allowing the fruit to develop full, rich aromatics, high acid offsetting Fiano’s natural waxy texture.

The fruit was destemmed and split into thirds, held on skins for zero, three or six hours before gently basket pressing. The juice was settled overnight, before racking to small format stainless steel for a wild ferment. Full malolactic fermentation further enhanced the wines texture before bottling in late winter.

J&S Fielke

Jemma & Steve Fielke are two names you need to put on your radar.

Born and raised in the Adelaide Hills, the two met while studying Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide and have since spawned this boutique wine label with big plans on the horizon.

They have planted out parts of Jemma's family property in the Hills to one day make their own estate-grown wines but in the meantime, they are sourcing small parcels from Piccadilly and making some profoundly delicious wines.

The word on the street is these two will be big players in the future of the Hills. Get in now on the ground floor of this exciting emerging project.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
