Description

The late John Vickery was a name everyone knew when it came to Clare Valley Riesling. He had over 50 vintages behind him, and while he’s sadly passed away, his legacy is in safe hands with Keeda Zilm. Keeda has been the driving force behind the winemaking here for years, ensuring these remain some of the most reliable, well-priced Rieslings in the country.

The 2025 season was warm and dry, leading to a fast harvest with small yields. Keeda started picking in early February to make sure the fruit kept its intensity without losing that bright, racy edge the Clare is famous for. A key part of the house style is using a bit of the pressings in the blend - it adds extra flavour and weight without bringing in any bitter, grippy phenolics.

It’s a generous, aromatic white that leads with apple blossom, fennel, and plenty of juicy citrus. The palate is packed with fruit but stays lean and focused, finishing with a long, zesty zing. This is exactly what Australian Riesling should be: clean, bone-dry, and great value. Drink it young at a long lunch or stick it in the cellar for a decade.

"Pale with a flash of green, with crystalline aromas of freshly squeezed lime, grapefruit and green apple, hints of meadow flowers, crushed stone, makrut lime, minerals and lemongrass. Taut and nervy with a dry, savoury endpoint, this is a wine that drips with minerals and pure limey intensity."

A classic Watervale Riesling, made in the unique John Vickery style resulting in a poised and balanced wine, full of flavour, interest and for the patient, longevity. This is our best selling wine for a reason.
Fruit for the 2025 Riesling is a sub-regional blend from the vineyards of our dedicated growers. The 2025 growing season was warm and dry, following a low-rainfall Winter and Spring. Early budburst and ripening led to a quicker harvest, with smaller yields yet fruit of exceptional intensity and purity. Despite the challenging conditions, careful vineyard management ensured healthy canopies and pristine fruit.

After walking the vineyards and tasting for fruit and flavour ripeness, Keeda decided that the first pick would be on February 7th. The picking date presented idyllic harvesting conditions with the cool, dry nights that Clare is famous for. Immediately after harvest, the fruit was taken to the winery at Watervale for pressing to avoid extended skin contact. The Vickery style utilises pressings material in the final blend to add flavour to the wine, with the press-cut happening a lot earlier than normal to retain flavour without bitter phenolics.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
