Crafted from Nebbiolo and Barbera grown on Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills vineyards, this is Unico Zelo’s take on an approachable, aromatic red blend, designed for pure drinking pleasure. Paying tribute to its Northern Italian inspirations, it’s a fresh, modern Aussie red with a playful edge.
Affectionately dubbed "Truffle Hound," the winemaking approach focuses on retaining the blend’s signature herbal aromatics and meaty, umami undertones. The fruit is picked early to preserve its lively energy, then carefully vinified to highlight amaro-like notes of liquorice, smoky cardamom spice, and earthy savouriness. A juicy mid-palate provides texture and drive, while a bright finish ties it all together seamlessly.

Given the grape types used in this blend one would expect a wine of substance with defined tannins and sweet black fruit. Instead this was an insipid cherry red with limited defined fruit character, some obvious winemaking faults giving it a sour / vinegar taste and trying to be different for different sake. A very disappointing drink given the enthusiasm showed by the presenters on their webcast.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
