Description

This is classic Thommo - no fuss, just clean, honest Hunter Semillon that totally hits the mark. Synergy is his entry-level white, but it still carries the same attention to detail and vineyard sourcing as the more serious stuff. Fruit comes from a mix of top sites across the Valley, including some of the same old vines that go into his single-vineyard releases.

The 2024 vintage is bright, crunchy and seriously refreshing. There's no oak, no tricks - just pure citrus fruit, some gentle florals, and that zippy acidity that makes Hunter Sem such a great drink. It’s built to be enjoyed young, chilled, and often, but still has the structure to hold up if you forget a bottle at the back of the fridge for a few years.

If you want to know what the fuss is about when it comes to Hunter Semillon, this is a pretty solid place to start. It’s an easy-drinker with real pedigree behind it.

    This a fabulous semillon for the price. I'd pay much more for it, Andrew Thomas is one of the best winemakers in the Hunter Valley and it shows in this semillon.

Our 'Village' blend is made by utilising select parcels of old vine Hunter Valley Semillon, from various sites that we are fortunate enough to have access to. The distinctive characters of each vineyard work together in Synergy to deliver a wine with attractive citrus and tropical aromas and a gentle acidity. Thomas Wines

Andrew Thomas is a modern-day legend in the Hunter Valley, crafting some of the region's greatest wines for over three decades. His personal label is regarded as a benchmark winery, with a focus on premium Shiraz and Semillon— the Hunter Valley's hero varieties. Thomas has access to some of the region’s best vineyards, allowing him to create wines that truly capture the essence of the Hunter.

Originally from McLaren Vale, Thommo moved to the Hunter Valley to join the winemaking team at Tyrrell's Wines. After 13 years, he ventured out to develop his own label, making single-vineyard wines that highlight the subtle differences between Hunter’s subregions.

Thomas Wines is known for its classic Hunter Valley Shiraz and Semillon, but it also occasionally explores innovative styles without compromising on value. The white wines are delicate and cellar-worthy, while the reds are full-bodied and classic in the best sense of the word, making them one of the benchmarks for modern Hunter Shiraz.

A mentor to much of the next generation of Hunter producers, if you want to try the essence of the Hunter Valley, Thommo's wines are a must-try.
