Description

Ten Minutes by Tractor is best known for its Mornington Peninsula Pinot, but this Tasmanian release shows they’re just as skilled working with fruit from further afield. Sourced from vineyards in the Tamar and Derwent Valleys, it’s a cool-climate Pinot with plenty of brightness and depth.

Hand-sorted and naturally fermented, the wine spent eight months in French oak (15% new), giving it just enough structure while keeping things fresh and vibrant. It’s expressive, silky, and food-friendly, with fine tannins and a touch of spice adding to its charm.

Whether you’re drinking it now or giving it a bit of time to develop, this is a great example of Tasmanian Pinot through the lens of one of Australia’s most detail-focused producers.

94 points
"This is a wine of both substance and freshness... black cherried, almost meaty, with woodsy spice... bold, or powerful, but it does not feel overdone."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

94 points - "Tasmania is a fair tractor trip from the Mornington Peninsula but, as it turns out, it was worth it. This is very good. In fact its asking price is entirely reasonable. This is a wine of both substance and freshness; the fruit here is black cherried,. almost meaty, with woodsy spice characters infused throughout, along with an attractive, varietal sourness. It feels bold, or powerful, but it does not feel overdone, and it’s firm to finish too. This wine won me over pretty quickly. It’s very good." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

Tasting Notes

Perfumed and expressive, this Pinot Noir opens with beautiful fragrant black cherry and blueberry fruits, exuding a voluptuous charm. Layers of aniseed, pink musk, and blackberry lead to a silky texture and chalky fine tannins.

Vintage

Region: Tasmania
A warmer and drier start to the vintage compared to previous years was followed by ideal conditions leading into budburst, allowing for good fruit set and bunch size. During the growing season, the northern Tamar region experienced above-average temperatures, while parts of the island’s south remained cooler than average.
