Description

TarraWarra has been a fixture of the Yarra Valley since the early ’80s, putting out solid, site-driven wines that punch well above their price point. For us, it’s a go-to for when you want proper Yarra pedigree without the boutique markup.

The 2024 release comes from a low-yield season that delivered some seriously concentrated fruit. The fruit is fully destemmed and sees only a small amount of new oak (15%) to keep the flavour profile bright. It’s exactly what you want from an honest Yarra Pinot: red cherries, raspberry lift, and a hint of violet perfume.

The palate is supple and plush, carrying a flicker of cranberry acidity that gives it a nice bit of shape. There’s a savoury edge and a fine tannin profile that provides grip without being heavy. It’s a moreish, easy-drinking red that’s ready to pour right now, and frankly, it’s hard to find much better value in the valley for this kind of quality.

93 points - "A very light, bright crimson. A very pretty and perfumed TarraWarra pinot. It’s all red cherry and cranberries together with a little spice and lifted, floral aromas. The theme continues on the energetic, sapid and very nicely balanced palate. I like, too, how the wine relies as much on its bright acidity for structure as it does on its silky tannins. Enjoy now and over the next four to six years." - Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

Season Notes
A small but high quality vintage. A cool spring followed by a mild and wet growing season saw low yields. This gave us lovely fruit concentration, depth of flavour and balanced acidities.
Alc/vol
13.5%
harvested
Hand harvested between 2nd - 26th of March, 2023.
Winemaking
The fruit was hand harvested and destemmed into open fermenters. Thoughtful ferment handling was used to encourage balanced flavour, acidity and tannin structure. The wine was blended post oak maturation in November, for bottling in June, 2024.
Oak:
Matured in French oak Puncheons and Barriquesfor 8 months. 15% new oak.
Cellaring
Will drink well now, and will continue to develop further complexity over the next 5-10 years.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
