Description

TarraWarra has been part of the Yarra Valley’s fabric since the early ’80s, quietly nailing classic styles while keeping things low-key. The cellar door’s stunning, the art gallery’s impressive, and the wines have always walked that fine line between polish and drinkability.

The 2024 Chardonnay is a notch racier than last year’s – cooler conditions and a longer ripening window have dialled up the energy and detail. It’s got that classic Yarra mix of citrus and white peach, with just enough texture from the barrel work to fill things out. Nothing too flashy, just clean, expressive fruit with a bit of edge and drive.

And like the previous vintage, there’s no separate reserve wine this year – all the best fruit ended up right here. That means you’re getting the top gear, but at the same easygoing price. It’s crisp, balanced and genuinely hard to stop drinking once you start.

Sourced from a mix of blocks across the property, including the original plantings in 1983. This is more elegant and refined than its predecessors. Aromas of ripe white peach and nectarine together with subtle marine scents lead onto the palate, which is energetic and poised. It's saline and taut on the finish, which bodes well for future development over the next three to four years.

A small but high quality vintage. A cool spring followed by a mild and wet growing season saw low yields. This gave us lovely fruit concentration, depth of flavour and balanced acidities.

Initial aromatics of citrus, being lemon & bergamot based, give way to subtle notes of white flowers & a slight hint of wet stones.

Flavours of ripe citrus, white nectarine and grilled hazelnuts. Refreshing, yet balanced acidity complements the intensity of the fruit profile. A crisp and textural finish with a subtle hint of salinity, helps drive the wine and aid in further complexity.
