Description

The 2024 Nick O’Leary White Rocks Riesling is a bright, zippy delight from Canberra’s cool-climate vineyards, proving once again why this region is one to watch for top-notch Riesling. Crafted from a single vineyard on the gravelly soils of Lake George’s ancient shoreline, this wine is all about precision and finesse.

It opens with vibrant aromas of lime, lemon, and a gentle hint of spice, inviting you into a palate bursting with citrus freshness. There’s a subtle layer of crushed apple and a whisper of bitter lemon pith, adding depth. The hallmark here, though, is the "laser-like" acidity - mouth-watering, electric, and the kind that will keep this wine singing for years to come. A few months on light lees gives it a touch of texture, rounding out the crisp, refreshing finish.

Whether you’re tucking it away to develop further complexity or cracking it open now for its lively charm, this mater Riesling-maker Nick O'Leary delivers serious value.

"While the fruit source for White Rocks has varied, it seems now that it’s all estate grown off the Heywood vineyards – the oldest (26 years old) and best blocks. It’s excellent; a wine of purity, detail and beautiful balance. Lemon blossom and ginger flower, Meyer lemon zest and juice with some finger lime pop to the acidity. There’s also some texture and depth and the finish is long and precise."
