Description
Modewarre is Mulline’s coolest site, and it shows. The Brown Magpie Vineyard sits just 20 clicks inland from the surf coast, on a mix of sandy loam, estuary marl and limestone, ideal soils for Pinot with elegance and energy.
Ben Mullen handled each clone separately (MV6, 777, 114, 115), playing with whole bunches across the ferments before landing on an assertive 80% inclusion in the final blend. It's a wine that’s fragrant, textural and utterly captivating.
There’s lift and spice from the stems, but it’s the interplay of red berries, briny minerals and fine-grained tannin that carries this wine. Oak use is dialled in (25% new), adding subtle polish to an otherwise expressive, finely etched Pinot Noir.
This is the most savoury and coastal of the Mulline reds, with loads of detail and drinkability.

"A bright, deep crimson. Ultra perfumed and lifted with its bouquet of brambly red fruits, rose bush and warm spices. Medium bodied, this is both sumptuous and beautifully delineated on the very long, classically structured palate. Absolutely tops from beginning to end and a wine destined to age effortlessly over the next decade or longer."

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
