Description

Joshua Cooper doesn’t make rosé as an afterthought - this is a serious, structured, and textural wine, inspired by the great age-worthy rosés of Clos Cibonne, Château Simone, and Domaine Tempier. Made from Merlot, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s barrel-fermented in large old French oak and aged on lees for 11 months, bringing depth, complexity, and a savoury edge to what is already a compelling, food-friendly style.

Pale and orange-hued in the glass, it offers aromatics of raspberry, cranberry, green almond, and white pepper, with a subtle stony minerality adding intrigue. The palate is textural and crisp, yet carries a creamy, lees-derived richness that wraps around bright red berry fruit and fine, feathery tannins.

This isn’t your standard summer rosé - it’s built to develop, with time in the cellar only adding to its layers of spice and savoury complexity. If you love Provençal rosé with depth and detail, this is a must-try.

"It’s soft, but not flabby, instead a coolness to its fringes that hold all the bright fruit, creamy, nutty elements, sweet spice and light, herbal elements in. Slips along the palate so gently, yet delivers plenty of character and good intensity for the style. Almost medium weight for pink wines, a good stain on the palate too, a fine, lightly spicy and unctuous finish. Brilliant."

    Excellent

Ordering more as we speak. Really in the style of the old French Provençal classics. If you like a more complex rose go for this.

Inspired by the great, age-worthy and serious rosé wines of the south of France (Clos Cibonne, Chateau Simon and Tempier), our interpretation is barrel fermented in large old French oak, then lees aged for 11 months, creating a wine of depth, complexity and character.

A blend of Merlot, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Orangey salmon in colour, it offers exuberant aromatics of raspberry, cranberry, green almond and peppery spice and a subtle stoney complexity. The palate is crisp, yet concentrated, full of bright, spicy red berry fruit, creamy, lees derived complexity and feathery tannins adding complexity and savouriness.

A wonderful food wine, and one that will also gain in complexity in the medium term.
