Description
Joshua Cooper’s Claret is a nod to the softer, more fruit-forward Bordeaux blends of old - immediately appealing yet still structured enough to age gracefully. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, it’s made in a supple, juicy style that works just as well for luncheon drinking as it does alongside a serious meal.
Bright garnet red in the glass, it opens with blood plum, cassis, and creamy black cherry, layered with hints of violet, tobacco, and iodine. The palate is plush and generous, full of purple berry fruit, yet framed by fine tannins and balanced acidity that give it structure without weight.
Approachable now, but will evolve beautifully over time - this is a modern take on a classic style, and one of the easiest-drinking reds in the Joshua Cooper lineup.

"It’s Claret alright. Medium weight, supple, dark cherry, cola, cassis, violet florals, sweet tobacco, light mahogany and choc-mint. A lively wine yet at medium weight, maybe a little more, sweet fruit and that herbal inflection running riot. All of it mellow in a way, seamless in integration. Light on its feet, pretty, and then, again, you know you have something of concentration. A touch resinous in this, but we move past, that’s micrometer detail. Wonderful wine here."

"No details other than a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec. No matter, it’s a gorgeous wine, starting with its bright garnet hue shimmering with a flash of purple. It’s in a Claret vein, as in mid-weighted and light on its feet yet by no means simple. This comes full of juicy fruit, all cassis, blackberries and dark plums with flecks of herbs, chocolate Mint Thins and woodsy/tobacco notes. There’s a vivacity of youth thanks to its acidity, making this perfect luncheon drinking. The lightly textural tannins and fine-boned shape point to a level of detail and complexity."

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
