Description

Mark Bulman’s reputation with rosé is well earned – and if you know the Turkey Flat wines, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.

This 2024 release under his own label continues that legacy, but with a bit more freedom and personality in the glass. It’s made with the same precision and finesse he’s known for, but feels a little looser around the edges in the best possible way.

There’s a little more colour this year, a slightly deeper tone that hints at the flavour to come. It’s bone dry, super fresh, with just the right amount of grip. Gentle notes of red berries, citrus, and spice float through, but it’s not trying too hard. It’s just… really good. Quietly confident and built for real-world drinking – whether it’s dinner in the backyard or just a warm evening with mates.

A great reminder that Australia can do top-tier rosé without overthinking it.

"Lovely smelling wine... not too much of any one thing, discreet, and quite complex... cherry, watermelon, blood orange, spice... finish of excellent length and subtle amaro twang."

94 points - "If I’m not mistaken there’s a little more colour in this wine this vintage, though it leans towards a more orange tint of pink. Lovely smelling wine; and it goes the way I like my rosato, not too much of any one thing, discreet, and quite complex. I’m thinking cherry, watermelon, blood orange, spice, a musky floral perfume, fennel tips. Or whatever you think really, I’m just saying it smells good. It’s soft and balanced, acidity sits just right in the wine, something of a pear skin grip, with a finish of excellent length and subtle amaro twang. It’s an excellent wine. Could twist my arm for 95 points even." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

    Pretty good brose

We enjoyed this and it's well made with the salmon eye colour appealing in the glass and the palate is dry with reasonable length. More Provence in style than South Australian.

"Fruit sourced from three vineyards, 2 x 100 year + in Kalimna and Stockwell and one 30 year old in Southern Barossa. The old vineyards are sourced for aromatic influence while the younger vineyard for fruit presence and persistence on the palate. All stainless steel ferments, but all treated differently for solid ratios and ferment temps to help promote each of the different vineyards better qualities.

My biggest secret is I use Pinot Gris on skins for the tannin profile (8%), you can’t get the same tannin presence from any other variety (that I’ve found) that doesn’t have massive colour pick up. I don’t advertise this anywhere, as is just confuses people.
