Description

Yangarra Estate are absolutely one of our very favourite producers and a winery that is making serious waves in the Australian wine industry.

Being a hero for the McLaren Vale region, both Shiraz and Grenache are their specialties. Peter Fraser loves working with the old Shiraz vines on the estate and has perfected his style here over the last few years. This is now consistently one of the most bankable Shiraz in the Vale.

It has become a beacon of value for those looking for a wine of serious quality that won't bust the bank account.

If you love Shiraz, if you love McLaren Vale, if you love wine at all, you should buy this.

95 Points
"Perfumed and spicy, showing aromas of wild blackberries, licorice, olive brine, boysenberries, bresaola and dark chocolate. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with finely tuned tannins and generous texture, leading into a saline-edged finish full of purity and freshness. Lovely lift beneath the dark fruit."

93 points - "As usual, from six blocks across the estate, with half from sandier soils and half more influenced by ironstone. There’s also 4% viognier in the mix. The inclusion is not unusual, but a slightly higher proportion warranted disclosure. It’s a co-ferment, so the integration is seamless. There’s a certain suave ease to this, both in fragrance and calm glide across the palate, though it sits in a mid-weight zone. Ripe red fruits more than black, warm spices, a trace of hardy herbs, the ferrous influence discreet. It’s a charming wine, undemanding in all the right ways, and, while ready to go, it should drink well over the next five years or so." - Marcus Ellis (Halliday Wine Companion)

5 Star Yangarra Estate Shiraz

Pleasant quaffing wine...

From the old-world Rhône Syrah to the South Australian red sweetheart, Shiraz evolves once again in the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs. Sourced from six unique blocks over 47 hectares on our elevated site, the elegant Yangarra Shiraz is shaped by its connection to the sand and ironstone soils that overlie the ancient North Maslin Sands geological formation beneath.

Yangarra

Yangarra Estate stands as one of the defining properties of the Blewitt Springs sub-region in McLaren Vale. Famous for its ancient North Maslin Sands and gnarly old bush vines, it is a single-vineyard estate dedicated exclusively to the varieties of the Southern Rhône.

For over a quarter of a century, the estate was shaped by the late Peter Fraser. Pete was not just the winemaker; he was the heartbeat of the operation and a visionary who fundamentally changed the way the world views Australian Grenache. He championed "purity, beauty and elegance," moving the needle away from high alcohol and extraction towards finesse and site expression. His pioneering work with ceramic eggs, amphorae and biodynamic farming helped earn Yangarra the title of International Winery of the Year twice.

While the loss of Pete is deeply felt across the industry, the wines remain a lasting testament to his genius. From the world-class Old Vine Grenache and the brooding Ironheart Shiraz to the textural, ceramic-aged Roussanne, every bottle reflects his philosophy of "always a little further." Today, Yangarra remains a certified biodynamic powerhouse and a benchmark producer, continuing to honour the legacy of one of the country's greatest winemakers.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
