"This is excellent. The interplay of spice and fruit, the poise and restraint, the structure and length—it had me typing fast to keep up... A brilliant Pinot Noir."
- Tom Kline (Wine Pilot)

The Park Vineyard is the home block at Woodlawn - established on Ricky Evans' family farm, the site of the winery itself, on free-draining aeolian sands over a gentle north-facing slope above beautiful Swan Bay. Afternoon breezes off the bay cool the vines through summer, giving the site a moderate microclimate that suits Pinot well. This is the debut release.

The vineyard is planted to four clones: MV6, Pommard, 115 and Abel, each handled separately in the winery. The 115 is picked early for brightness, MV6 goes through varied cultural treatments for complexity, Pommard delivers a savoury character from this site, and Abel adds flesh and juiciness. Lots of small individual ferments, with only a selection of barrels making the final blend. Eleven months in French oak, mostly second and third fill.

It's a spiced, aromatic Pinot with a savoury, earthy edge, fine structure and real length. There's both complexity and elegance here for a debut release, reflecting the range of clonal material and the natural character of the site.

An exciting new chapter in the Woodlawn and Ricky Evans story!

95 points - "This is excellent. The interplay of spice and fruit, the poise and restraint, the structure and length—it had me typing fast to keep up. There’s an attractively sweet tone to the aromas from the outset. Ripe plum and raspberry coulis are quickly cut by clove-studded orange, dusty cassia, nutmeg, and star anise. A swirl of the glass unlocks tilled earth, adding dimension and savoury complexity, alongside dark cherry and a cherry pit minerality. Once it all clicks into place, the aromatic profile is gorgeous – laden with umami and brown spice depth. The palate delivers intensity with lift and brightness. Raspberry, dark cherry, clove, star anise, earth, and a twist of blood orange glide through a satin-like texture, before firm tannins shape the wine and guide it to a very long finish. The spice lingers in the mouth perfume. A brilliant Pinot Noir." - Tom Kline (Wine Pilot)

94 points - "An inviting vibrant ruby, this shows aromas of crunchy red apple, red cherry and raspberry fruits with hints of five-spice, charcuterie, purple flowers, teacake, pomegranate, crushed stone and shoyu. Graceful and finely textured, bright acidity pushing the wine forwards, fine elastic tannins keeping everything in check, fading slowly with a vivid energy and stony, savoury vibes." - Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion)

94 points - "The 2023 Woodlawn Park Vineyard Pinot Noir is more savory and earthy than the almost glossy 2024 tasted alongside. Here, the wine leads with an array of red fruits, the tannins are more pronounced and it sits in a more savory spectrum of expression. This is spicy and yet ethereal, with dried rose petals, crushed rocks, exotic woodsy spices and dried herbs laced through the finish. These wines come warmly recommended. The estate-owned Woodlawn vineyard was planted in 2017 on chromosome aeolian sands over deep tertiary sediments. 13% alcohol, sealed under Diam and wax." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

93 points - "A serious potency and fruitiness to this wine, almost a gummy texture, lots of rosy, rose petal and spice perfume. Nice. There’s brightness of red and black forest berries, a touch of cranberry drink, some candied orange peel in the mix with sweet spice on light dashes of milk chocolate shown. It feels lively and bright, enough glossy, rich texture to make most people happy, tannins supple and swishy throughout, if not a touch sticky. Maybe just a touch one note throughout, but charm plus and great pinosity." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

Established on our family farm, the home of the winery this is our largest site.

The soils are free draining aeoilian sands, on a gentle slope facing north, the ancient outside bend of the river, with incredible views north over Swan Bay where the prevailing breezes arrive cooling the vines each afternoon in this moderate micro climate.

Planted to MV6, Pommard, 115, Abel we have great mix of flavour profiles to work with here. 115 is picked super early, looking for brightness, whilst our largest block of MV6 sees a few different cultural treatments to allow us to find complexity. Pommard is savoury from this site, and Abel is fleshy and juicy. Lots of small ferments and these remain separate until a small selection of barrels make the final blend. 11 months in french oak, mostly second & third fill.

Woodlawn Tasmania

Woodlawn Tasmania is the umbrella under which Ricky Evans' three wine labels coalesce.

His three labels include the regional Two Tonne Tasmania series of Tamar Valley Riesling, Chardonnay and sub-regional Pinot Noirs, the experimental series of wines under the Havilah label made for his wine bar in Launceston of the same name and his Single Vineyard range of exceptional premium wines from his beloved Tamar Valley vineyards farmed by Ricky himself.

Evans is one of Tasmania's most dynamic winemakers. Over his time since serendipitously starting the Two Tonne Tasmania label in 2013, Ricky's approach to both farming grapes and making wine has matured dramatically. The young gun is now an established player in the upper echelon of the island and is set to be one of Tasmania's most influential voices in wine for many years to come.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
