The Mac Forbes Gladysdale Village Chardonnay hails from the southern end of the Yarra Valley, where the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate.
Located below Yarra Junction, this sub-region enjoys warm air flowing down the valley, combined with increased moisture from the surrounding forests and higher solar radiation. The result is a Chardonnay that is both rich in aromatics and supple in structure, with the grey-brown clay soils lending depth and texture.
On the palate, it’s tightly structured, yet reveals a fullness that sits prominently up front, offering a rich and satisfying experience. With a pithy, long finish, this Chardonnay showcases both depth and restraint, making it a wine that will only improve with time.

"All Willowlake fruit. A few hours of skin contact before fermentation and maturation in only seasoned barriques. A terrific bouquet with its subtle white pear, gentle citrus, orange pith and hazelnut scents. Tightly structured, as it always is, but with good depth. Pithy and long too. This just needs six to 12 months or so to open up."
