Pinot Noir & Gamay make for great bedfellows.

In Burgundy, these blended wines (Bourgogne Passe-tout-grains) are built for fresh, sometimes rustic, easy drinking, often consumed by the picking crews themselves during harvest.

This version by Mac Forbes and team is as fresh as a daisy. A little bit of whole-bunch, a little time in concrete, bottle young and bright. It's a light, juicy, could-be-bloody-brilliant-with-a-chill red that's perfect for knocking back in tumblers as the sun goes down.

Our EB (Experimental Batch) wines are used for small interesting batches of wines that push through boundaries of either viticulture or winemaking. They represent a challenge to ourselves in terms of either a new viticultural or winemaking direction.

One of our favourite parts of harvest is filling in the "incoming fruit" whiteboard each morning. Some days, the incoming parcels are just screaming to be co-fermented! A little bit of concrete, a little bit of whole bunch and a whole lot of fun, this classic combination draws inspiration from the workers wines of the old world.

TASTING NOTES

Heady and brooding with nostalgic aromas of dark fresh cherry, baking spice and rhubarb up front and mulchy, herbal undertones. Bright juicy red fruits dominate the
palate with sinewy structure seamlessly knitting the two varieties together. An impressive red wine that can easily take a light chill over summer.
