Description

Bodega Colomé has been operating in Argentina’s Salta region since 1831, making it one of the country's most historic wine estates. With winemaker Thibaut Delmotte steering the ship, the focus here remains squarely on pushing the absolute limits of extreme, high-altitude viticulture.

This pure Malbec is built from four distinct, biodynamically farmed parcels across the Upper Calchaquí Valley. The backbone comes from the home estate at 2,300 metres - where some ancient vines date back 150 years - while the rest is pulled from La Brava, El Arenal, and the Altura Máxima vineyard sitting at a staggering 3,111 metres above sea level. That brutal mountain UV forces the grapes to grow incredibly thick skins, packing in deep concentration while freezing nights lock in vital tension.

Delmotte handles the fruit carefully in the cellar to ensure that hard-won alpine character stays front and centre. The wine spends fifteen months resting in seasoned second- to fifth-use French oak barrels, followed by an additional six-month slumber in bottle before it ever leaves the winery.

The 2023 is a massively concentrated yet remarkably energetic take on the variety. Expect crushed dark boysenberry, violet pastilles, and a crackle of black peppercorn wrapped around a plush, densely packed core. You get all the structural grip and weight you want from serious Argentine Malbec, cut through with a brilliant, high-wire acidity. It's a genuine benchmark for the region that drastically over-delivers for the money.

"Subtle ripe aromas introduce this Malbec from Argentina's northern region. Savory notes complement fruit flavors of cranberries and red plums that take over the palate. Delicate hints of bay leaf mark the lingering finish."

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
