Lovely stuff, finishes fresh and bright. A delight to drink.
About The Wine
Sam Leyshon ventures far from the family homestead for this wine.
For his Aligote, it's off to the King Valley in Victoria where so many of the younger-gen winemaking crowd are sniffing around for new varieties to play with.
Aligote suits Sam's vibe. It's a laid-back, easy-going variety which provides plenty of flavour and texture for Sam to tweak the dials on.
It drinks beautifully and is one of the more affordably priced renditions of the variety in the country right now.
Mallaluka is a family affair in the Canberra district of NSW.
These estate-grown wines are made by second generation vigneron Sam Leyshon who has most recently learnt to ply his trade assisting Bryan Martin and Tim Kirk at Clonakilla.
These are modern wines that reflect the changing face of this exciting region. He makes wines with a wild side, with minimal intervention and are insane value for money.
With Sam in the driver's seat, Mallaluka is one of the rising stars of the region, bringing a unique light and shade to the Canberra district.
