About The Wine
The fruit for this wonderful wine comes off a small portion of the Toolangi Estate vineyard in Dixons Creek.
This particular section of the vineyard is pruned to cap production at two tonnes per acre, thus increasing the quality and intensity of the fruit.
It's a quietly confident release, flush with bright red fruits and enough savoury backbone to tug you back to the glass again and again.
You are paying for quality here; quality fruit from a very good vintage.
This is the top release from this Estate. Drink up.
About Toolangi
Toolangi is a relatively undiscovered jewel of the Yarra, tucked in the corner of the Dixon's Creek sub-region up against the Toolangi state forest from where it takes its name.
Started by the Hounsell family in 1995, Toolangi was all about the vineyard, with famous Victorian names taking care of the winemaking.
Now owned by Rochford, the winemaking and viticulture is all in-house, headed by ex-Mount Mary man Kaspar Herrman. His recent releases have seen incredible quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a nod towards more graceful, structured wines.
