...this certainly stood out for both concentration and power.

About This Wine
Quinta do Noval only releases a tiny portion of its wines as a Vintage Port, and they are consistently among the greatest wines of the region.
Their vintage port is as always 100% estate (quinta) fruit, and it's always one of great class and purity. Aged for 18 months in the traditional wooden barrels and bottled with just under 100g of residual sugar.
Elegant and powerful, this is noticeably perfumed, floral and incredibly enticing. The structure and tannins will ensure decades of life ahead - but, if you wanted to drink it now, it is exceptionally pleasurable.
About Quinta do Noval
Quinta do Noval is one of the great Port houses, producing not only the most famous Vintage Port (the legendary Nacional), but also creating the ‘late-bottled’ style as well as the first single vintage Tawny Ports, both in the 1950’s.
Despite its history and standing, the quality of all Quinta do Noval’s wines was elevated significantly since the early 1990’s when Englishman Christian Seely took over as head of production.
Traditional vinification methods remained the same, however one significant difference is that all single vintage wines from Noval now come from 100% estate-grown fruit (unlike most other large producers in the region).
Since the ’94 vintage, the first under Christian Seely, the Quinta do Noval Vintage Ports have always been rated amongst the best of the region.
