Rudderless Vineyard
Rudderless Vineyard was planted by noted McLaren Vale wine personality, Doug Govan, owner and proprietor of the historic Victory Hotel in foothills of Sellicks Hill.
Doug began planting the 'initial' vineyard in 1999 with cuttings taken from some of his favourite vineyards around the country. Another vineyard to the West soon followed. There are six varieties on the Rudderless Vineyards including Grenache, Shiraz Mataro and Malbec with a healthy amount of Graciano in the ground and a little Viognier.
The wines are currently made by the Yangarra team of Pete Fraser and Charlie Seppelt, two of the region's finest and most experienced winemakers.
The resulting wines are astonishingly good. A gem of McLaren Vale and top value to boot.
