Pierre-Marie Chermette
Pierre-Marie Chermette took over his family vineyards in 1982, and from the from the very beginning he had a vision to produce a more serious, quasi-Burgundian example of Gamay from his homeland.
When bubble-gummy, frivolous Beaujolais was all the rage, Pierre-Marie was making serious wines for the best restaurants in Paris, and was an early convert to organic viticulture (now certified).
The family estate is based in Saint-Vérand, in the south of Beaujolais where P-M makes wines with family members Martine and Jean-Etienne. They make white, rosé and red Beaujolais rosé, from crus such as Brouilly, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour, and also Cremants de Bourgogne as well as hand crafted fruit liqueurs.
