Muller-Catoir (Cat-wah) is a beacon of quality in the Pfalz region of southern Germany. Given their careful farming, quality focus and reputation for mentoring many of today’s fancied German growers, it’s surprisingly little known.
Their fastidiously farmed 25 hectares is certified organic since 2015, centred around a regal 1890s sandstone manor house.
Whilst some of their finest work is with rich, complex dry Riesling, they excel with a spread of grapes both red and white, capturing all the depth in the patchwork geology of this region.
