Lucien Le Moine
For the true connoisseur, the extraordinary and extraordinarily limited red and white Burgundies of Lucien Le Moine are not to be missed.

Lucien Le Moine is a partnership between husband and wife team of Mounir and Rotem Saouma.

Since 1999, theirs has been one of the most talked-about negociant operations on the Cote d'Or. They discerningly source select parcels from the finest Premier and Grand Cru vineyards up and down Burgundy. They raise the wines in a slow and painstaking fashion and have released thousands of the most enriching, nourishing, mouthwatering wines of the last two decades in Burgundy.

“This bright, hard working, extroverted man has created in a few short years one of Burgundy’s finest independent negociant firms”

- Wine Advocate

"An extraordinary micro negociant in Beaune. Very serious quality.”

- Jancis Robinson

"One of the most original thinkers working in French fine wine today."

- Andrew Jefford (Decanter)

Winemaking wise, they have been touted as one of the benchmark 'modernist producers', however, Mounir believes that his long, slow elevages and minimal use of sulphur harken back to the Burgundy production of an era gone by.

We have managed to secure a small allocation of their brilliant 2016 Bourgogne Blanc and Rouge along with a precious few bottles of their incredible 1er Nuits St George from the highly-touted 2016 vintage, and their earth-shattering expression of the great Grand Cru Corton Charlemagne in 2013 - arguably one of the greatest Chardonnay terroirs on the planet.

These are powerful, complex wines of imposing quality and stature. Few bottles make it to Australia. If you only drink the very best, Lucien Le Moine deserves a place in your cellar.
