About The Wine
The Sélèque family's first vineyard holdings in Pierry were put down by Henri Sélèque in 1965.
Henri's son Richard began making small amounts of grower Champagne through the 1970s. Today, Henri's grandson, Jean-Marc has taken up the mantle and propelled his family estate to become one of the most talked about labels of Epernay's small-production grower vanguard.
Jean-Marc has gained experience making sparkling wines around the world, from the Yarra Valley to the US of A. He has taken all this knowledge and reinvigorated his family label with a modern approach to the craft and is now considered one of Champagne's most exciting young guns.
This NV offering comes from select parcels over Pierry, Moussy, Épernay, Mardeuil, Dizy, Boursault, and Vertus. It's Chardonnay dominant and comes with an explosive energy. The balance and precision here is excellent, where fruit, freshness and lees-derived complexity all walk hand in hand. The value on offer here is exceptional.
