About the Wine
Chalky, savoury, red-fruited, biodynamic, difficult to pronounce correctly but worth the effort.
70% Pinot Meunier with the balance being Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Based on 2016 vintage but with more and more reserve wine involved with each new disgorgement.
About Laherte Freres
Laherte Freres (the brothers Laherte) are based in Chavot, just to the south of the famous Champagne town of Epernay. Grape growers for generations, they are now at the vanguard of the recent grower Champagne revolution, respecting the soil and the environment while making some astonishing, characterful wines.
With a rare terroir-focused philosophy, meticulous biodynamic viticulture and traditional winemaking (lots of large old wood is used) these are Champagnes to make you drink and think.
Look out for zero dosage Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier Rose and a cuvee made from six varieties!
