About The Wine
The Fleet Yarra Junction Chardonnay is sourced from Upper Yarra fruit, in a vineyard planted in 1995 over gravelly grey loam. After handpicking, the fruit was pressed and settled in stainless steel vats, after which is was fermented with wild yeasts and then racked to old French puncheons, before a partial malolactic fermentation took place. The Chardonnay then rested on its lees for 10 months to build texture, flavour and complexity, before it was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The Fleet Yarra Junction Chardonnay has beautiful aromas of citrus, stone fruit, nuts and some earthiness, with a wonderful texture, vibrant acidity, and a long length.

Fleet Wines is the culmination of 30 years of combined experience in wine hospitality for husband and wife duo Justin and Lisa Jenkins.
They have approached their label with an eye to crafting contemporary, elegant wines that slip neatly into the modern zeitgeist of Australian food and wine culture.
They source their fruit from Gippsland, Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Valley with an increasing amount being farmed by them personally. With plenty of great press coming their way in a relatively short time, they are one young Victorian label that you'd do well to keep a close eye on.
