Very proud of this.
Koen Janssens, Winemaker
About The Wine
This a fine example of Barossa Chardonnay, the region’s inherent warmth doing nothing to hamper the wine's freshness and nerve.
A flinty style with a lively saline finish to the bright fruit. Some clever use of barrels during ferment lends a savoury edge and some great texture.
It’s a wine that Koen is very proud of, and rightfully so.
About Bink
Koen Janssens is one half of the crazy duo that creates the flamboyant Yetti and the Kokonut wines (he’s Kokonut).
With Yetti, Koen experiments with white and orange winemaking, with his own label Bink, he takes a broader approach.
Starting his journey in wine as a sommelier, it was a stint at Quay in Sydney that made him realise his calling was making, not selling wine.
Moving to SA, Koen learned from some great people including James Erskine, Anton Von Klopper, and Pete Schell, before setting forth on his own path with YatK, and then Bink.
