About The Wine

Agnes Henry is one of the most respected vignerons in Provence.

Her mind-bending examples of Bandol have been touted the world over. From dark, inky Mourvedre that is destined for dark cellars to some of the more sublime and structured Rosé wines made on planet earth, her Domaine in the commune of Le Brulat is one of the most picturesque in the Provence region.

This Rosé wine is exquisite. As if it were etched out of pink quartz, it's a wine that shows immense power and definition, whilst maintaining a slender, elegant frame.

In a world of pink wines that are bland and uninteresting, wines like this make a compelling case that Rosé made with care and intent can truly transcend to the world of 'fine wine'.

From The Producer

Appellation Bandol needs no introduction to Australia, it’s wines were long ago successfully introduced to the fine wine scene here and have since graced many restaurant wine lists. The mainstay grape variety in Bandol is Mourvèdre which also needs no introduction as it has lived successfully domestically for over 150 years and has contributed to many celebrated old wines (and their fond memories). In the last 10 years some of Australia’s best wine estates have been bottling special plots of Mourvèdre on it’s own.

Mourvèdre is king in Bandol and Agnès Henry is queen in her village high up in the hills. Here at one of the finest Estates in Provence, Mourvèdre expresses all of its dark and meaty potential. Tour du Bon means Tower of Good; the Domaine was named after a watchtower which is said to have been sited here to protect the local village. Certainly, a sense of harmony and peace pervade the air.

Critic Reviews

DDS review

"The scent that wafts from the glass of the La Tour du Bon Bandol Rosé 2019 produced from Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Clairette is always seriously attractive, the colour a radiant bright red-pinkish orange and you are transported straight to the Mediterranean. The mouthfeel is dry and racy on entry but with good depth offering elegant yet punchy flavours that are zesty and attractive. The wine finishes dry and long, with resonating spiciness and a hint of herbs. A beauty!" - Andrew Guard, Importer

Wine drinker for 50 years

One of the best Rose’s I’ve tasted in the last five years. Not cheap but worth the extra price. Doesn’t have the sharp acidic aftertaste of many others

Delivery times vary considerably with Australia Post and unfortunately there is no Express Delivery Option for wine (because it is fragile and heavy). Strict government health and safety requirements and very high parcel volumes are causing significant backlogs at the main NSW and VIC sorting facilities. Orders are still arriving safe and sound but you may notice slower delivery times and less frequent scanning updates than usual.

FaQs

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!

Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.

Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.

Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.

I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 1300 668 385 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.

Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.

Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
