About The Wine
A tribute wine, to love, to youth, and of course to Grenache, the wild grape that sets this region aflame. Organic farming, of course, as it’s so easy to do in this climate, it really is more a matter of; if you’re not farming organically in the dry regions of Spain, then one probably needs to take a hard look at themselves and truly ask, why not?
Partially fermented with Syrah, with small additions of Cabernet and Merlot added to the blend. Sara and Rene are committed moving forward to move on from the French varietals currently planted, and to replant or graft over to indigenous varietals as this project matures and grows.
The vineyard sits on the solitary patch of granitic soils in the region, thus they want to respect this unique plot of land, and help reshape the image of Montsant alongside the growing band of emerging winemaker in the region.
About Sara I Rene
Next generation winemakers with deep historical roots, that’s just the beginning when talking about the wines of Sara I Rene.
Sarah Perez and the winemakers behind this emerging label, while at the same time also running their families’ wineries 2 of the original Priorat 5; Mas Martinet and Mogador. Breathing new life into the region, they are ecological conservations at the core, making wines that are clean and unadulterated, soulfully made with minimal intervention.
Making wines in both Priorat, and Montsant, under their own label, while also having another small project with friends, at the same time as they’re raising their small brood of children, phew... So much going on, yet with an unwavering commitment to their idealism, the future looks so bright.
