About The Wine
If a producer doesn’t grow the grapes, pick the grapes or make the wine, how can they possibly influence the quality of what ends up in the bottle?
Whilst this may at first be puzzling, sit long enough with this Zen inflected riddle, and you’ll clearly see, these bottles do not lie. That’s if you can lay your hands on one.
Not just a gifted taster, Mounir Saouma follows an exceptional process of nurture for all his wines, here channelling the smoky, brooding power and plush dark structure from some of Mazi’s finest fruit.
About Lucien Le Moine
Lucien Le Moine is a partnership between husband and wife team of Mounir and Rotem Saouma.
Theirs has been one of the most talked about negociant operations on the modern Cote D'Or. They actively source parcels from the finest Premier and Grand Cru vineyards up and down Burgundy.
Winemaking wise, they have been touted as one of the benchmark 'modernist producers', however, Mounir believes that his long, slow elevages and minimal use of sulphur harken back to the Burgundy production of an era gone by.
On their operation, Jancis Robinson wrote, "An extraordinary micro negociant in Beaune. Very serious quality." These are powerful, complex wines of imposing quality and stature.
