A flowing, lush red... It will titillate many for its impact.

About the Wine
The Henty region of Victoria is one of mainland Australia's coldest region. Therefore, you might expect that it would be difficult to sufficiently ripen Cabernet Sauvignon, particularly as parts of it are much further south than areas such as Coonawarra. However, the truth is that it's capable of producing some really concentrated, full-bodied reds without a hint of greenness, as exemplified by Crawford River.
In certain years, the Crawford River Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe and powerful beast, yet with lashings of elegance and sufficient acid from the cool nights. The fruit leans towards the dark spectrum, with added notes of graphite, cedar and bay leaves. Can be drunk now or will become even more magical after more time in bottle.
About The Producer
Crawford River is very much a family operation. The talented Thomson clan have been producing wine from their beautiful home vineyard since 1985.
The Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc thrive on the estate, but it's Riesling that they are most famous for.
They produce a range of styles of varying ages that are outstanding. Many consider them as one of the country's premier producers of the noble variety.
These are wines of purity and elegance. Small-batch, family-owned, traditional winemaking and good, honest farming is at the core of everything Crawford River does.
