Delightful wine of verity and interest.

About The Wine
The Boca is the Le Piane flagship blend of Nebbiolo (85%) and Vespolina.
Made in a reserva style, this spent three years in old large format barrels (2000L - 3000L) before release. It's a bold, medium-bodied, though incredibly powerful red wine that speaks of a singular patch of Piemonte.
It shows a unique tapestry of amaro-like bitterness and sweet floral perfume against a beautiful backdrop of ripe red fruits with impeccable tannin structure.
An excellent option for collectors looking for something unique and special for the cellar.
About Le Piane
Le Piane was born out of a purchase of the historic cellar and vineyard of Antonio Cerri by vinologist Alexander Trolf and the vintner Christoph Künzli in 1998.
After Trolf tragically passed away in a car accident before the full project was realised, Künzli has made it his mission to turn the spotlight back on this forgotten region on the far eastern side of Piemonte, revitalising vineyards and resurrecting traditional blends and methods of production. The wines have gained quite the reputation over the intervening years.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate dubbed Le Piane, "some of the finest wines you will find in Alto Piemonte. This high-performing winery is a true treasure not only for Piedmont but for Italian wine in general." They are a hidden gem of Italian wine that is experiencing a second life. Very exciting stuff.
