Delivery is free on orders of $199 or more!
For orders under this amount, delivery is calculated at checkout based on your postcode. You can order in any quantity or combination of wines you like. Straight dozens are not required.
We will dispatch your order the same or next business day.
Estimated delivery transit time varies depending on your location. Please review this page for specific estimates. Enter your postcode in the estimator widget at the top of this page for an accurate estimate.
No sorry we do not have a store front and pickup is not available.
In most cases, yes — and the easiest way to arrange it is to reply to your order confirmation email with the date you'd like. What we can commit to depends on how your order is being shipped:

Yes — we deliver any business day you choose. Just tell us the date.
Australia Post:
We can't guarantee the exact delivery day, but we can time our dispatch to target your preferred arrival date.
Anonymous Wine Freight
Yes, but only on their scheduled route days for your postcode. Some areas are only serviced a couple of times per week — you can check the schedule [here]. Once you've picked a day that works, we'll time the dispatch to match.
In all cases: reply to your order confirmation with your desired date and we'll take care of the rest and do our best to accomidate.
Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order. If you would like us to hold your order please reply to the order confirmation email after placing your order and we are happy to store your order for up to 6 months at no charge. You can review our heat policy here.
Sydney (Our Vans): If no one is home and there are no special delivery instructions our driver will try to call for instructions. If the driver believes there is a safe space to leave your wine they will do so if not, they will return the item to us and hold your order until further instruction from you.
Melbourne (Anonymous Wine Freight): If no one is home and there are no special delivery instructions, the courier will try to call for instructions. If the driver believes there is a safe space to leave your wine they will do so. if not, they will return the item to their dispatch centre and hold until further instruction from you.
Australia Post: Australia Post will leave the parcel if they have been given authority to leave and it is deemed safe to do so. To give your Authority to Leave, please enter this in the 'SPECIAL REQUEST' box at checkout.
Yes, if you already have a PO Box with Australia Post, all you'll need to do is:

Please contact us as soon as possible. Our warehouse is quick, so the sooner we receive the request, the better chance we have at changing the delivery address!
If your order has not been dispatched, this is quite simple.
If it has been dispatched already, then we will need to request a redirect with the courier, which generally causes a delivery delay and can take some time.
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!
No we just have a warehouse which is not setup for browsing or walk ins. All order are dispatched very quickly however and if you’re in Sydney we have next business day delivery.
No. You can order in any quantity or combination you like and we'll pack it up for safe delivery.
It's a fair question given how most wine retailers work.
Short answer: no — because our prices are already pitched at that level.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer — including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate — we're happy to match it.
We stock two types of specialised gift boxes, each suitable for a single 750ml bottle of wine.
These are the Premium Cardboard Gift Box and the Wood Wine Gift Box.
Please add a gift box to the cart with the wine you would like to send, and we will handle the rest. If your order contains more than 1 bottle of wine plus a single bottle gift box, please make it clear in the delivery instructions which wine you wish to include in the gift box.

Yes of course. You can find gift card options here. Standard amounts ($25, $50, $100 etc) are listed but if you'd like something more specific please call/email us.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
We act differently to other traditional wine retailers, who will mark up a higher single bottle price, and then discount that back down in a case. We prefer to be generous and keep things simple and just offer the best price from the get-go, no matter the volume.

Even though instances are rare, breakages are an unfortunate fact of life when shipping glass bottles of wine. To provide you with complete peace of mind, every Different Drop order is fully insured.
If your shipment arrives with broken items or the Australia Post tracking indicates it has been damaged, please contact us promptly and we’ll organise a replacement or refund.

Please note that once your order is dispatched it will be considered a return and we will need to recover the order before we can process a refund.
If a wine you have purchased from Different Drop is faulty, damaged (excluding damage caused by misuse) or wrongly described we will happily refund your money, provide store credit, or where possible, send a replacement bottle.
For some high-value products, Different Drop reserves the right to have the product assessed for acceptable quality prior to discussing a suitable remedy with you.
To make a claim under our faulty returns policy please send us an email to hello@differentdrop.com within 60 days of receiving your wine. Where possible, kindly send us a photo and description of the issue as this helps expedite the process.
Please note that we reserve the right to refuse refunds if we disagree with the claimed fault (eg. the wine simply didn’t taste as you’d expected), or feel this policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
Different Drop happily provides the option to a refund or an exchange if you have changed your mind on a purchase, provided that:
If you wish to return an order please contact us at hello@differentdrop.com and we will arrange a return shipping label for you. Please note that return postage is at the expense of the customer and is not covered by Different Drop. Once the product is received and assessed (see above) we will refund you the value of the wine less any shipping and credit card fees. An estimate of this cost will be provided to you open initiating the return.
